Customize Page Number and Orientation

Hello, my beloved readers.

Welcome to my brand new blog which now I would like to share about how to customize your page number and orientation in Microsoft Word 2010 !
In here, I will share 2 things that really help students to make their thesis, proposal and report paper become easier.

First thing is customize page number.
Step 1 - Open your file and find "Page Number" on "Insert".

Step 2 - Choose "Bottom of Page" in order to show the page number in the bottom of the page. Then you can choose which one you preferred for the alignment of the page number.

Step 3 - Automatically your file will have page number in each bottom of the page.

Step 4 - If you want to change it become Roman numerals, you can click right on the number of the page and choose "Format Page Numbers..."

Step 5 - After that, change the number format into the Roman numerals (i, ii, iii, ...). Click, OK.

The number of the page will change into Roman numerals.

Step 6 - In thesis, proposal or report paper, there must be using Roman numerals at first and using the cardinal numbers. In order to mix them all in 1 file you can click "Page Layout" - "Break" - "Next Page". So the file will have a new page in the same file and you can change the format without worried the other pages before.

Step 7 - Click right on page number then choose "Format Page Numbers..."

Step 8 - Next, change the Number Format into Cardinal numbers (1, 2, 3, ...) and don't forget to change the page numbering. Because you want to start the page number from 1, choose "Start at:" and write number 1, so the page number will change into number 1.

Step 9 - If you want to change the page orientation from potrait into landscape, first you have to do the step 6. Then, choose "Page Layout" - "Orientation" - "Landscape".

Voila, your newest page will changed into Landscape like this.

Usually, when you choose "Break" the page number will change too. So you just have to change the page number again.

It's good to share all my experience with you.
See you on the next blog . . .
